Very early May - Napoli

Okay, I still haven't gotten back to Moon over Soho. Just not in the mood for it, I guess. Another book started earlier and still languishing is Leviathan by Scott Westerfield. Am I being shallow by wanting to read Girl Genius instead? Or wanting Agatha to show up?
Anyway, a fruitful trip to the bookstore netted me Bound by Donna Jo Napoli among other things (Hah! They filed the new del Franco book under F). It's a Cinderella story set in early China. The book itself is very short. I finished very quickly. The cultural inclusions seemed realistic and it definitely had a historical feel without any contemporary intrusions. It doesn't slavishly follow the standard Western version of the story which is great. I wanted a different ending--have her strike out into the world or something, but that doesn't really the setting. I'm probably not going to keep the book, so it didn't wow me.
